Jackson Oboth

jacksonJackson is the senior PR manager for MetropolitanRepublic Uganda  in charge of PR strategy and media relations for MTN Uganda. He has fourteen years experience in brand PR, corporate relations and crisis communications. He was a senior reporter and editor with The Monitor for eight years.

In five years with MCL Uganda he managed some of the region’s top brands including Bell Lager, Celtel, Warid Telecom, Coca-Cola, and Barclays Bank. He worked with Weber-Shandwick on the AES Nile Power/Bujagali  Power Project.  He has also worked with Church Orr (SA), McCann Erickson (USA) and Nairobi-based AY&R.

He later launched his own consultancy. Clients included QG Saatchi & Saatchi, DFCU Bank, NIC and politicians.

As PR director at Scanad, he advised banks and  companies in the energy, health and fast moving consumer goods sectors, as well as airlines, including Emirates and Kenya Airways.

Jackson is mass communications graduate from Makerere University and a holder of the prestigious Uganda Management Institute Diploma in Journalism, Media Management/Public Relations. As a journalists, he has worked for Uganda’s leading media houses and has written and developed scripts.  He is  an experienced media planner. He has worked  in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya.
